Delete your MelonSense account
MelonSense · wanleidev@gmail.com
Delete it yourself, in the app
The fastest way is in the app itself, and it takes effect immediately:
- Open MelonSense and tap your initials in the top-left corner.
- Scroll to the bottom of the profile screen and tap Delete account.
- Read what will be removed, then tap Delete my account.
Or ask us to delete it
If you can’t install the app or have already uninstalled it, email wanleidev@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject “Delete my account”. We’ll confirm and delete it within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Removed permanently, and not recoverable:
- Your profile: name, email, Frenzy tokens, referral code and any subscription.
- Your sign-in credentials.
- Your scan history, and the photos and knock recordings of melons you did not rate.
- Every link between you and anything that remains.
Unused Frenzy tokens and remaining subscription time are not refunded.
What we keep, and why
Melons you rated stay with us as anonymous research data — the photo, the knock recording, the measurements taken from them, and the rating you gave. Those four things together are what teaches the sweetness model, and a rating is only useful if the melon it describes is still there.
They are kept anonymously, and we mean that specifically: each one is stored under a newly generated random identifier, with your account reference, name, email and the original file locations removed, and the date reduced to the month. Photographs have their embedded metadata, including any location, stripped before storage. What is left describes a watermelon, not a person, and we cannot trace it back to you — which also means we cannot pull your particular ratings back out afterwards. The app tells you this on the rating screen, before you rate.
One other item survives: a one-way hash of a device identifier, kept to stop the same device claiming the new-account sign-up bonus over and over, and to keep the daily free scan to one per device — so deleting your account does not reset either by letting you sign up again on the same phone. It is not reversible, the account reference on it is erased, and it is used for fraud prevention only.
If you would rather leave nothing behind at all, don’t rate melons — scans you never rate are deleted completely along with their photos and recordings.
